What is TRI-M?
The name of this organization shall be the Tri-M Music Honor Society (Tri-M). The three M initials stand for Modern Music Masters.
The purpose of this organization is to inspire music participation, create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, and promote leadership in the music students of secondary schools.
Timeline for acceptance
September 26, 2025 Application and Recommendation materials due by 3:00
*ONLY STUDENTS WHO MEET THIS DEADLINE WILL BE ALLOWED TO SIGN UP FOR AN AUDITION TIME SLOT.
October 13, 14, 15 & 16 Auditions (During Lunch/Before School). Sign-up sheet on TRI-M board
October 24, 2025 Letters of acceptance/rejections sent out
October 30, 2025 First meeting at lunch in room 145
December 16, 2025 Formal Induction Ceremony during the Choral and Jazz Winter Concert in the auditorium.
Minimum Requirements
1. At least one full year in a Quince Orchard Ensemble and Current Enrollment in an ensemble.
2. Unweighted GPA of at least 3.0
3. Application Form and 2 short-answer essays.
4. Two Teacher Recommendations - cannot be a music teacher
5. Audition Performance of a staff selected piece OR other solo piece selected from the Maryland State Solo List. All Solo pieces must be approved by a QOHS music teacher.
