My sustained investigation explores the question of how animals see us and how our relationships affect one another. Between my pieces, chains will be a commonality to not only link the pieces but show the restrictive nature of how we own and control animals. Many people treat animals with respect, kindness, and love. However, I want to explore both the human and faunal sides of animalistic perception, relationships, and behavior. My unique perspective containing shock value, unique color palettes, and multiple mediums should captivate and contribute to my sustained investigation topic overall.

Why is it that history and the figures within it are taught so differently than how they truly were? Why is so much erased and changed? These questions drove my investigation. History is rigidly taught, but the figures within it were fluid. My work strives to show the other side of historiography, revealing the human condition often ignored or rewritten. From the perspective of the American education system and its culture, my work delves into the history from President to starlets, bringing new life to the monotonous perspective.

My sustained investigation began with questioning family, and developed into what connects people and defines them as a family. I realized it was the simple things that defines family, and that food was a great example showcasing what family really is.

How can I represent the evolving nature of the relationship between an individual and their imagination throughout the course of their life? I explored how to represent that our relationships with our imagination isn’t linear but cyclical and ever changing depending on both our internal and external consciousness. The imagination is symbolized through the representation of a mythical creature. Throughout my investigation, I discovered the ways our imaginations are intertwined with our surroundings and the ultimate fluctuation of how our imaginations aid us and sometimes hurt us.
