Place the instrument on the floor, table, or other flat surface.
Make sure to put on any cork grease or oil as necessary while you unpack.
Be careful NOT to roughly grab parts. Use gentle and small twisting motions.
Do NOT use extreme force to make things go together-you might be doing something in the wrong order!
Make sure to clean your instrument after every time you are done playing.
Gently take it apart using small twisting motions and put it carefully in the case.
Brass mouthpieces:
If it gets stuck, wait a few moments and try again.
If it is still stuck, bring your instrument to your teacher or the music store. Do NOT use plyers at home! Plyers will destroy the metal!
Do NOT store method books, music, or folders in your case on top of the instrument.
Store your instrument in the case when not playing.
Make sure your case is labeled with your name.
NEVER leave your instrument in hot or cold places for long times.
Do NOT leave it in your car overnight!
