This afterschool club is open to 5th graders in the 2024 - 25 school year. We meet on Wednesdays from 4:15 - 5:15. All materials are provided, but students need their own transportation.
Pine Crest is lucky to have two Blair High School students running the club. Leo Jin is a Junior at Blair HS in the Science, Mathematics, Computer Science Magnet program. Frank Lin is a Sophomore and also in the Science Magnet program at Blair. They both joined Opportunity X when the chapter at Blair opened in 2023.
Leo and Frank bring a great interest in the sciences to Pine Crest. Leo is particularly interested in computer science in understanding the workings of the increasingly vast digital space and data analysis in the real world. Frank is very interested in robotics and their usefulness within the world to aid humanity in creating and advancing in tech. They hope to spark that interest in our students as well.
Mrs. Ellen Holder, PCES Media Specialist, is the staff sponsor of the club.
