About Your School Counselor
I have been the school counselor at Oakland Terrace since 2003. Before Oakland Terrace, I worked in Prince George's County Public Schools as a middle school counselor for two years and as an elementary special educator for five years. I received a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling at Bowie State University in 2001 and completed an undergraduate degree at the University of the District of Columbia in 1994. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering at the Humane Rescue Alliance, fostering small animals, traveling and playing pickleball.
Counseling Services Include:
Individual
The School Counselor provides short-term individual counseling. Students may self-refer themselves to the school counselor using the referral form on the office door (Room 31) or request one from the classroom teacher. Teachers may also refer students to the school counselor through the use of the online teacher referral system (OTES Staff Resource) tab above or by email. Parents/Caregivers may refer their child/ren to the school counselor through email or a phone call.
