MCPS has created a searchable database of ODTs. You can review the MCPS approval status, MCPS usage recommendations, and privacy policy of each tool on this website: https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/data-privacy-security/technology
Once an ODT is evaluated, MCPS will put into one of three categories: Approved, Use Responsibly, or Prohibited (noted below). Several tools under the Use Responsibly category have an MCPS recommendation of "affirmative parental consent." NHS Parents can provide parental consent using this form: bit.ly/nhsODTconsent
NHS ODT form submissions are being monitored by the Media Team. Please contact us if you need additional information.
If you are interested in using a tool that has not been reviewed, fill out the MCPS Online Digital Tool Vetting Form here: https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/data-privacy-security/safeguards.aspx
Once you submission is received, it will show-up in the database as "Under Review."
Several external tools can be used within Canvas. Click on any tool listed below for directions to add these tools to a Canvas assignment, page or module. (Links below are only accessible to staff in the 796 NHS Staff group, using your MCPS Google account.)
Using the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Guidelines I have curated a collection of online digital tools that have been reviewed, and approved by MCPS. The UDL Guidelines ensure that we are providing multiple forms of engagement, representation, and expression.
