Congratulations on becoming a Montgomery County Public Schools educator! NEO is an exciting time when you will also learn a lot that will help you as you begin navigating your MCPS world. You will learn about curriculum you will be teaching or supporting, how to create a learning environment for all students to be successful, information about benefits, leave, and pay, and so much more! The New Educator Orientation will also feature raffles and giveaways, a teacher store, a community fair, a Choose-Your-Own professional learning conference opportunity, an opportunity to get your MCPS badge, and NEO swag.
This Google site will provide all of the essential information you need to prepare for your NEO experience beginning on Monday, August 11. Please see the table below for the NEO week at-a-glance and the flyer for an overview of the week.
*New educators will arrive at their school sites at 9:00am and the day should be done no later than 4:00pm.
Please register for NEO by completing the Google Form pictured below. Completion of the NEO Registration Google Form will help ensure that you can view your correct schedule for NEO through PDO and select your preferences for the Choose-Your-Own professional learning conference opportunity on day 3 of NEO. PDO has a new app! The MCPS Professional Development Online (PDO) System provides course registration and comprehensive professional development support. Please download the PDO app to easily view your schedule and session locations during NEO, as well as complete attendance. If you encounter issues with the QR codes, search “Unified Talent Mobile” in your app store.
Tap the app.
Select Professional Learning as the Product.
Enter CtZ9fV for the District Code. (case sensitive)
Tap Next.
Enter your username (no mcpsmd prefix or @mcpsmd.com).
Enter your password (the same password for Outlook login).

On-site parking at Paint Branch High School will be available for days 2-4 of NEO. There will also be off-site and additional Park-N-Ride lots available with an MCPS shuttle service to Paint Branch HS. Click here for more information on parking options available.
Warm breakfast and a hot lunch will be provided on-site at Paint Branch High School for days 2 and 3. If your content/curriculum area will going off-site on day 3 of NEO, please plan to bring your own lunch as we are unable to provide a warm lunch to the off-site locations. Warm breakfast and a box lunch will be provided at Paint Branch High School on day 4*. You also have the option to bring your own lunch or go off-site for lunch. Microwaves will be available at Paint Branch High School if you choose to bring your own lunch.
There will be a different theme for each day of NEO (like a Spirit Week!).
