Elementary NEO Attendees

On day 2 (Tuesday, August 11) of NEO, there will be a cohort-based rotational schedule. Most new elementary educators will be in cohort 1. You will receive notification of your cohort assignment and your personalized NEO schedule before Tuesday via PDO and your MCPS email. Physical copies of the NEO schedule will also be available upon arrival.

All new educators will have an opportunity to attend the following sessions/events on day 2:

• Daily kick-off

• Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA) presentation

• Employee and Retiree Service Center (ERSC) presentation

• Creating Conditions for Success session

• Community Fair

• Professional Growth Systems (PGS)/ Evaluation presentation

On day 3 (Wednesday, August 12) of NEO, all new educators will attend the following sessions/events:

• Curriculum sessions

On day 4 (Thursday, August 13) of NEO, all new educators will attend the following sessions/events:

• ElevatED Professional Learning Conference 

• Curriculum sessions and training for Specialty Elementary Groups

Lunch and breakfast will be provided at Gaithersburg HS on August 11, August 12, and August 13 of NEO.

Specialty Elementary Groups

Some specialty elementary groups will be following the Secondary/Specialty schedule.
