As we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week this year, remember to extend your appreciation to MCPS mental health professionals for their work supporting students, schools, families, and communities. There are many mental health professionals in various positions throughout MCPS, and your work is appreciated!

Recognizing School-Based Mental Health Professionals
Consider these ideas to recognize your school-based mental health professionals (including school counselor, school psychologist, school social worker, EML therapeutic counselor, pupil personnel worker, community school liaison, wellness coach, and any additional school-based mental health professional) this week:
Shout out each school-based mental health staff member during morning announcements
Write a note to each school-based mental health professional and place it in their mailbox, door, office, or designated workspace
Provide information about each school-based mental health staff member in the principal's newsletter shared with the community
Can you find all the school-based mental health professionals in your building/office? Give them a high five or send them an email of appreciation this week
