When do classes start?

How long is each class?
Students taking original credit courses should plan on spending about 5.5 hours per weekday. This time will include 4 hours of in person classes, and an additional 1.5 hours of independent course work.
How often will I be in person with my teacher.
Students will have in person class Monday through Friday from 8 am to 12:30 pm daily.
What if I need extra help?
If you find that you are struggling in a summer course, communicate with your teacher! We will have BLISS tutors available to work with students as well. Summer classes move very quickly, so communicate with your teacher often!
How do I contact my teacher?
Students will be provided with their teacher's email. You will also be seeing your teacher each weekday so you can check in with them before or after class.
Are these classes for credit?
Yes, each session is for 0.5 credit hours. To earn 1 credit you must register for both Session 1 and Session 2.
Who is eligible to participate?
MCPS highschool (rising 9th graders included) students who are looking to earn original highschool credit or to improve their GPA.
Are there limits on the number of students who participate?
Yes, class sizes are limited to 25 students.

If a student is taking a course for original credit can they also participate in credit recovery or an enrichment course?
Courses for credit are very time consuming. We do not recommend students that are taking for credit courses to enroll in additional courses.
Taking a credit recovery course will be considered on a case by case basis.
