Hi there! I am Kerry McGovern and I am excited for another great year in 2nd grade! I earned my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from Miami University and my Master's in Human Development from The University of Maryland. I grew up right down the road in Darnestown and now live in Rockville. I enjoy reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends. This will be my 12th year teaching in MCPS and my 3rd year at KP. Our class also has the honor of having a senior intern from the University of Maryland join us. It's going to be a great year! 

Hello! My name is Gabby Simala. It’s nice to meet you! I am excited to start another year at KP. I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and have a Masters in Instructional Technology from UMGC. I completed my student-teaching internship at KP and have been working in second grade ever since! I grew up and continue to live in Olney, MD. I enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, cooking with my mom, and listening & singing along to every type of music. My favorite getaway is Bethany Beach, DE.

Hi! I am Andrew Walker and I am re-joining the 2nd Grade team this year. I grew up in Frederick County and I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. This is my 7th year at KP! I started here as a long-term substitute and have moved around between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. I love being outside, swimming, gardening, baking, and spending time with my friends. Let's have a terrific year!

Hello! My name is Kiersten Willis. I am very excited to start another year at KP! I have my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Elementary Education. I taught for 11 years before taking time off to spend with our children and this is now my 8th year at KP! I live in the neighborhood and our children went here to KP! Our daughter Grace is now a junior at The University of Georgia and our son Johnny is a Junior at Georgetown Prep. I love to do yoga, go on long walks and travel with my family.

Hi everyone! My name is Eva Comamo. I am so excited to be a student intern in second grade at Kensington Parkwood ES! I am currently a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park completing a Bachelors in Elementary Education. I grew up in PG County, MD. In my free time, I enjoy paddle boarding, taking walks, trying new foods, watching movies and spending time with my friends.

Hello! I am so excited for a great year in second grade. I am currently a senior earning my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I grew up in Montgomery County and graduated from Damascus High School.

Outside of teaching, I love to read and spend time with my pets. I also enjoy being outdoors, cooking, and doing crafts. I have a big passion for creativity and learning, and I’m excited to bring that into the classroom this year. I look forward to getting to know everyone and making this a fun and successful year together!
