"My apprenticeship with MyMCPS media allowed me a paid experience into the working broadcast world. I learned alongside industry experts and gained experience working on real projects in the community. This helped set me apart on my college applications "

OVERVIEW:
Are you interested in gaining real world work experience while you're still in high school? Our internship program is comprised of three different levels of support to meet students' needs:
Apprenticeship: Application based, paid opportunity to work for an employer (at least 450 hours) either during or after school hours. Low level of oversight for motivated students, earning at least minimum wage and gaining in-demand job skills that often lead to a full time job with education benefits after graduation.
Internship: offers students the opportunity to work in a paid or unpaid setting (75 hours per semester). Internships are authentic work experiences that build professionalism skills and a great way to explore careers, build a resume and gain valuable new skills. Taken in tandem with a once a week Internship Seminar Class for a moderate level of support.
Site Work: This a work opportunity for students that need sustained support to gain & maintain employment. Taken in tandem with a career seminar class, students receive daily professional support and education in conjunction with hands on work experience.
