Math Department
Mission of the Math Department
The mission of the Mathematics Department at Gaithersburg High School is to ensure that all students have the opportunity to experience high-quality mathematics instruction, learn challenging mathematics content, and receive the support necessary to be successful. We believe in creating, supporting, and sustaining a culture of access and equity while being responsive to students' backgrounds, experiences, cultural perspectives, traditions, and knowledge.
At Gaithersburg High School, we
ensure that all students have access to a challenging mathematics curriculum, taught by skilled and effective teachers who differentiate instruction as needed;
monitor student progress and make needed accommodations; and
offer remediation and additional challenges when appropriate.
ALL math teachers at Gaithersburg High School are working closely with students to provide them with an effective mathematical instruction program that will help them acquire the math skills and abilities to promote success not just in their college and career paths, but throughout their lives.
