About

Mission

The Forest Oak Middle School Library Media Center's mission is to support curricular instruction by providing staff and students access to a collection of print and electronic media, along with training and support that will promote efficient and responsible use of all available resources.

In addition, the Forest Oak Middle School Library Media Center supports reading for personal satisfaction by providing a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction print materials intended to engage the middle school reader.

Program

The media skills program is taught in conjunction with classroom research projects. At each grade level specific research skills are matched with grade level curricula. Some lessons and units are taught whole-group in the media center, some small-group in the media center and some in the classroom. The media schedule is flexible, in order to accommodate the largest number of people in the most efficient manner.
