Experience: This will be my 25th year teaching in Montgomery County Public Schools! I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Salisbury State University (now Salisbury University). I recieved my masters in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniels College. I have worked with students of all ages and all abilities. I love teaching first and second grade the most. During these years you will see some amazing growth in your child's academic and social skills. Together we can make this year a great year.

Meet Mrs. Hadley
Hi, I'm Mrs. Hadley! I am very excited to teach 1st grade, this year is going to be awesome!
Interests: Traveling, making jewelry, listening to music, going to concerts, cooking, reading, and spending time with family
Favorite Foods: Homemade pizza, pickles, cheese, and green apples

Experience: I have an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and a masters degree in Reading with a Reading Specialist Certification. I went to Towson University and the University of Maryland. This is my 14th year teaching at Glenallan. I have experience as a Kindergarten, 1st grade, and Academic Intervention teacher where I worked with students K-5th grade. I grew up in Montgomery County, and graduated from Rockville High School. I am very excited for a brand new school year and I can’t wait to see all the growth the students will make! It’s going to be a wonderful year!
Meet Mrs. Ruby
Hi, I'm Mrs. Ruby! I am so excited to be teaching 1st grade at Glenallan ES this year, it's going to be an awesome year together and I can't wait!
Family: Mikhail (husband), Kayla (my dog), and Mila and Mj (the kitties).
Interests: Cooking, reading, swimming/beaching, hiking, traveling, concerts, theater and volunteering. Can't forget: C-A-P-S CAPS CAPS CAPS.... I am a HUGE Hockey fan and am dedicated to my Washington Capitals.
Favorite Foods: I love trying new things so this changes all the time. Who wants to share a great recipe?
Favorite Subjects: Social Studies, Science and Reading.
Experience: This will be my 8th year teaching first grade in MCPS and my first year at Glenallan. I have experience teaching Pre-K, Kindergarten, second grade and multiple levels and settings of Special Education. I have been working with children in some capacity since I was 13 years old so I think it's safe to say that as a teacher I am living my passion. I grew up in New York but moved to Maryland for college and got hooked! I graduated from Hood College with a degree in both Elementary and Special Education. I am currently working on my Masters degree. I absolutely adore first grade and cannot wait to share my love of learning with my students and their families.
Meet Ms. Shortall:
Hi, I'm Ms. Shortall! I am thrilled to be a First Grade teacher at Glenallan Elementary School! I can't wait to grow together this year, it is going to be so much fun!
Interests: Cooking, reading, playing games, painting, listening to music, swimming (anything to do with water is right up my alley), and football Sundays!
Favorite Foods: anything Italian, pineapples, bagels, Chinese food, and artichokes.

Experience: This will be my second year teaching in Montgomery County Public Schools! I received my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Penn State University (WE ARE!) after spending a full year in fourth grade in the State College Area School District in Pennsylvania. Before that, I spent two years teaching pre-school within the Northern Virginia area.
Originally I am from New York, but when I was in second grade we moved into Montgomery County and I went to elementary school at Judith A. Resnik Elementary, attended middle school at Redland Middle, and spent my freshman year of high school at Magruder. We then moved to Frederick County and after graduating from high school I was a nursing major for my next three years of college. It was after working at a pediatric office and switching to teaching preschool that I found my passion for teaching. I packed up my life and moved to State College, PA to pursue my education degree and it was the best decision I could have made!
I am so glad to be back in the county where I spent most of my childhood and I am so excited to be at Glenallan Elementary!
Meet Mrs. Pacyga
Hi, I'm Mrs. Pacyga and I am very excited to be here at Glenallan Elementary School with all the 1st graders
Family: Maya (4th grader), Alexander (2nd grader), Peter (husband) and Luna (our Golden Retriever).
Interests: LOVE hiking with the babies and spending time in the nature during Spring and Fall (favorite seasons). I enjoy cleaning, cooking and baking during free time.
Favorite Foods: love salads of all kinds!! My most favorite one is from Olive Garden 😊

Experience: This will be my second year here at Glenallan but second year teaching 1st grade. Before that I have had experience in Special Education in self-contained setting, PEP classic and collaboration, Kindergarten, and Head Start. At the age of 14, I started as a baby sitter and ever since working with children became my passion. I graduated from University of Maryland with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education. I am truly grateful for having the opportunity to be a part of the community and to be able to learn and grow with all the students.

Experience: This is my first year teaching overall, BUT I come with A LOT of experience. I have taught summer school in Howard County for 3 years and subbed for two years as well. I have been wanting to be a teacher since I was 3 years old and have never wavered from that dream! I have been working with children in some capacity since I was 13 years old so I think it's safe to say that as a teacher I am living my passion. We will have a positive, fun, and a lot of learning this year!!!!!!
