The goal of the Churchill Philosophy and Ethics Club is to expand the reach of Philosophy and Ethics to the Churchill Community. Usually, these topics are overlooked or deemed as boring in many courses. These topics are very important in everyday life and are great brain stimulators. Each member will engage with each other and work to answer questions that seem unanswerable and debate certain topics that may seem uncomfortable or unknown. But in the grand scheme of things, it will just be a fun time of discussion and debate with other members that you will create bonds with. Every member walks out of each meeting with increased confidence in their values and ability to confront ethical dilemmas. We cover a broad range of topics from the coronavirus vaccine distribution, the multiverse, the trolley problem, eugenics, and more. We will be asking tough ethical questions and discussing them together! You don't want to miss the party on World Philosophy Day, guest speakers (Dr. Hallie Liberto last year, a philosophy professor at UMD), and more!
