NOVEMBER DEADLINES


Banneker/Key Scholars Program (12) Deadline: Nov 1. Eligibility: Applicants must have demonstrated significant academic leadership and accomplishment in high school. All freshman applicants to the University of Maryland who are admitted to the Honors College are considered for nomination. No additional application materials are required. Students must register for a minimum of 12 credits per semester, maintain a minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA, and complete 24 credits per academic year. Award: Tuition, room, board, and a book allowance each year for four years of undergraduate study. Also, the opportunity to apply for an additional $ 5,000 to be used for research opportunities, internship experiences, attendance at professional meetings, study abroad, or other student-initiated learning opportunities approved on a case-by-case basis. 


Prudential Prudential Emerging Visionaries (14-18) Deadline: November 3. Eligibility: Prudential Emerging Visionaries are people ages 14 to 18 taking on today’s toughest financial and societal challenges. Award: up to $15,000 


Regeneron Science Talent Search (Regeneron STS) (12) Deadline: November 9. Eligibility: High school seniors. Submit a

written or independent research report in science, mathematics, or engineering. Award: up to $250,000.


Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Competition (12) Deadline: November 14. Eligibility: Applicant need not be related to a member of the Elks but must be a high school senior. College students are ineligible. Applicants must be citizens of the US on the date their applications are signed (permanent legal resident status does not qualify). Male and female students compete separately. Award: $1,000 - $12,500.


**Robertson Scholars Leadership Program - Duke or UNC-Chapel Hill** (12) Deadline: November 15. Eligibility: Robertson Scholars have the strength of character to persevere and act on what they believe, academic potential in critical thinking skills and intellectual curiosity, and strong communication skills. Award: Full tuition, room and board, and most mandatory fees for Scholars at Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill. Scholars also have access to generous funding for up to three summer experiences, funding for conferences throughout the academic year,

and for two semesters of study abroad. 


**Levine Scholars Program at UNC Charlotte** (12) Deadline: November 16. Eligibility: Outstanding high school seniors who demonstrate a

commitment to community service, hold an academic record that reflects a sustained passion for knowledge, and possess a capacity for ethical leadership that beckons fellow students toward a higher standard. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. Award: The four-year scholarship includes full tuition, room board, a grant to implement a service project of the Scholar’s own design, and four summers

of experiences that will develop leadership skills, social awareness, and an international perspective. The total value of this four-year package is estimated at $105,000 for in-state students and $155,000 for out-of-state students. 


Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship Program (12) Deadline: November 17. Eligibility: High-achieving high school seniors with demonstrated unmet financial need who intend to enroll full-time in an accredited four-year college beginning in the fall have earned a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above. Award: Up to $55,000 annually to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school.



DECEMBER DEADLINES


UMBC - Meyerhoff Scholars Program (12) Deadline: Dec 1. Eligibility: Prospective students cannot have received lower than a B in any high school science or math course, and many applicants have completed a year or more of calculus. Preference is given to those who have taken advanced placement courses in math and science, have research experience, and have strong references from science or math instructors. Students must have a minimum of 600 on the Math component of the SAT or a composite score of 24 on the ACT, a cumulative High School 32 GPA of 3.0 or above, aspire to obtain a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in Math, Science, Computer Science, or Engineering, display a commitment to community service, and be a citizen or permanent resident of the US. Award: $5,000 - $22,000 


Dell Scholars Program (12) Deadline: Dec 1. Eligibility: While we have a required 2.4 grade point average, Dell Scholars targets low-income, highly motivated students who are better than their numbers indicate and demonstrate the drive to succeed despite personal obstacles. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a unique "GPA" of grit, potential, and ambition in their quest for a college education. Award: $20,000 plus lots of non-monetary support.


LEDA Scholars Program (11) Deadline: December 12. Eligibility: Students must be from low-income ($90,000 and below) backgrounds; first-generation college students are considered particularly. Student must be a junior in a public high school (11th grader) at the time of applying and have an unweighted cumulative GPA of at least 3.6. Award: free seven-week Summer Institute on the campus of Princeton University, where they receive academic preparation, leadership development, and intensive college guidance counseling 


Equitable Excellence Scholarship (12) Deadline: December 16. Eligibility: Students must be US citizens or legal residents and current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the US. Students should demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities. Award: $2,500, $10,000 or

$25,000. 


Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship (9-12) Deadline: December 31. Eligibility: 9th-12th grade high school, college, or graduate

student, including adult students who are legal residents of the US and currently in school or planning to start school within the next 12 months. Award: $1,000.
