Book Checkout FAQs:
How many books can I check out?
Students are allowed to have two books checked out at a time.
How long can I borrow books for?
Books are due one week from the day they are checked out. Students can return books early, or bring them to the media center to scan and renew them.
When can I come to the media center to check out books?
The BGES media center is always open for students to checkout books during the school day! Come in the morning between 8:40-9:00, or ask your teacher if you can drop by the media center for a quick book exchange.
How can I see what books are checked out on my account?
What happens if a I lose a book?
During media lessons, we talk to students about how and why to be responsible with library books. If a book is overdue, we will ask the student and caregivers to conduct a thorough search for the book. If the book still cannot be found, we ask that an adult in the home to please email Ms. Reed to say that the book is truly lost. While we do not charge fines or fees for overdue or missing books, we greatly appreciate when families are able to purchase and donate a replacement copy of the lost book.
