Parents, families, and members of the community are welcome to volunteer in the school library. Per MCPS policy, the following steps must be completed in order to volunteer in our school building:
Complete the Parent/Guardian and Community Volunteer Form to introduce yourself, share your volunteering interests and scheduling availability. This form shares important reminders about volunteering at school.
Complete the mandatory online training for volunteers. This training is required for any volunteer who regularly supports schools, chaperones a field trip, etc., and can be accessed in multiple languages. When the course is completed, a report is created to serve as written documentation of satisfying this requirement. Visit the Volunteers page on the MCPS website to access support guides and FAQs about this training.
Contact Ms. Lange and Ms. Chuk with your Parent/Guardian and Community Volunteer Form and online training completion report. Ms. Chuk will reach out to get you started in the library!
Parents, families, and community volunteers may be asked to support the library in the following ways:
Shelving returned books
Organizing/reorganizing shelves
Creating displays and bulletin boards
Locate and curate resources for classroom research
Helping students locate materials during book check-out
