Welcome to B-CC Transition Resources
This page is maintained by Marc Lawrence, Transition Support Teacher at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. Here you'll find upcoming events, resources, and tools to support your student's transition planning.
What is Transition Planning?
Transition planning is a required part of every student's IEP beginning at age 14. The goal is to help students build a clear, personalized plan for life after high school. At B-CC, transition planning focuses on three areas:
Education & Training — Exploring college, vocational programs, and other post-secondary options
Employment — Identifying career interests, internships, part-time jobs, and workplace readiness skills
Independent Living — Building self-advocacy, self-management, and daily life skills
