  • Checking your child's folder each night is very important. Students will have homework on a more regular basis this year due to our new ELA program. You can expect to see homework one to three times each week. Some weeks there may be more than others. It's always a good idea to review spelling patterns as soon as the Caregiver Letter comes home with the words and pattern(s).

  • Please remind your child to complete his/her assignments at home in pencil.  This allows mistakes to be erased and correctly neatly. If you are in need of pencils at home, let me know and I would be happy to send some home with your child! Assignments should also be completed in students' own handwriting (not the parents').

  • Work that is not finished in class may be sent home to be completed. That work should be completed as soon as possible so that students stay caught up with what we are learning in class.

Breakfast and Lunch Information

Breakfast and lunch prices are shown below. Any family may complete a Free and Reduced Meals online application at the following website: https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application. You may add money to your child's mySchoolBucks account at the following website: https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/getmain?requestAction=home. Each month's breakfast and lunch menus may be found at: https://www.mcps.org/o/mcps/page/school-nutrition.

Please sign up to receive information from me via Remind. You may text @bfk6kc8 to the number 81010 or click on the image to the left to get started.

Extra-Curricular Activities

If your child participates in any extra-curricular activities throughout the year, I would love to know when and where they are taking place! I enjoy coming to the students' games and activities, so I will try my best to come to at least one of them, if not more!

Food and Drinks

Birthdays are special, so birthday treats may be sent in! Please be mindful that we may have dietary restrictions and/or allergies in our class, so I ask that you check with me before sending anything in. Thank you for your help with this!

You are always welcome to eat lunch with your child! Outside food from restaurants may not be brought in to students during lunch. You may either purchase a school lunch or bring a packed lunch from home. The school also asks that soda and energy drinks not be brought to school.

Water bottles may be kept in the classroom. Plain water is the only liquid that is allowed in the bottles to prevent sticky spills. I do ask that water bottles be taken home at the end of each week to be washed.

Join our private class Facebook group! Click the button to the left to become a member of our private Facebook group. Or, search for the group called Reeves' Room 2025-2026. This is a great way to see what we are doing in the classroom, as well as stay updated with school and/or class announcements!
