Stay Connected

NEW FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We’re excited to introduce a new way for Middlesex County Public Schools to connect with families: Thrillshare  Rooms by Apptegy, also known as Rooms, a powerful communication tool integrated directly into our district mobile app.

We understand that keeping up with school communications across various platforms can be challenging.  Rooms streamlines this process by consolidating messages, classroom updates, and announcements into one convenient location.

What is Thrillshare Rooms?

Thrillshare Rooms offers secure, two-way messaging between families and their child’s school. Teachers can send announcements and messages to parents, guardians, and students. Guardians can also message teachers and staff. This unified platform ensures that all communications are centralized, making it easier for everyone to stay informed.

Key Features

• Two-way messaging in a monitored, secure environment

• Classroom updates and announcements shared directly through the app or website • Notifications of communications through email, SMS messages, and/or push notifications • Automatic translation into your preferred language

• One centralized location for school communication and classroom reminders

Getting Started

You’ll receive an invitation to sign up for Rooms over the summer and at the beginning of the 2025-2026  school year. Once you accept your invitation, you’ll be connected to your child’s teachers and receive messages and updates automatically. You and your students will see the Rooms in August. Until then, you will have your account created and connected when we reach the next school year! Please see the attached handout for explanations of the invitation.

Accessing Rooms

You can access and use Rooms in two convenient ways, making it easy to stay connected whether you’re on  the go or at your computer:

• Through the MCPS Mobile App “Middlesex County Schools VA” – Available in the App Store and  Google Play

• Through a web browser – visit https://id.thrillshare.com/users/sign-in and login with your credentials  created through the invitation process

2911 General Puller Highway · PO Box 205 · Saluda, VA 23149

Phone: (804) 758-2277 · Fax: (804) 758-3727

Frequently Asked Questions

• Do I need to download Rooms separately? No, Rooms is built into our district app and will have a link directly on our division and school websites.

• Who can use Rooms? Rooms is available to families with students currently enrolled in the district,  along with teachers, staff, and school administrators. Students and guardians will need login credentials to access Rooms.

• Is Rooms free? Yes, the division provides access to Rooms at no cost to families.

• Can I get all of my school communication in one place? Yes, the district app gives you access to  Rooms, school news, events, cafeteria menus, and more—everything in one place.

• What kind of communication should I use Rooms for? Use Rooms to message teachers about assignments, behavior, upcoming events, and classroom updates. It’s designed to allow for engagement and transparency between families and your child’s education.

• Will the app work on my phone? The app supports Android (version 8+) and iOS (version 7+)  devices.

• What do I do if I already have a Rooms account through MCPS? If you were part of a pilot group that used Rooms for a short time during this past school year, you likely already have an account set up and won’t receive an additional invitation. You can log in to your account to be sure you have access  and be sure you have the MCPS app updated.

We’re excited to offer Thrillshare Rooms to help strengthen the connection between home and school. We hope it makes staying informed and involved easier than ever. Please review the attached document and be on the lookout for your invitation to join Thrillshare Rooms!

If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s school.

Sincerely,

Tracy B. Seitz, Ed.D.

Division Superintendent
