I grew up in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, and graduated in 2006 from Monona Grove High School. I played a lot of sports in high school, including volleyball and track, and I also loved musical theater. I am sure as the year goes on, the kids will recognize my continued passion for both. After MG, I went to Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota and graduated in 2010 after student teaching in St. Paul.
Even though the Twin Cities are amazing places to be, I decided to take advantage of my youth and move out to Seoul, South Korea and teach English to students from ages 5-13. I spent a year teaching in Seoul, and experiencing the culture, as well as taking time to travel to Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, as well as exotic Jeju Island, off the southern coast of South Korea. I returned from Seoul in September of 2012, and landed a long term job at Northside Elementary School in 5th grade, and they haven't been able to get rid of me since.

After graduating from MG, I made the big 8 mile move to the University of Wisconsin - Madison where I was a 5th generation Badger!
