About / Sobre CAC

The Community Advisory Committee is composed of parents of students within the county with special education Individual Education Plans (IEPs). CAC members are appointed by their school district boards and act as an advisory group to the SELPA.

The CAC provides school districts and the SELPA with community input regarding the development and implementation of the Local Plan for Special Education. It also serves as a forum for addressing the needs of ALL students with disabilities. The CAC encourages meaningful communication among school administrators, the Board of Education, parents, and communities.

El Comité Asesor Comunitario está compuesto por padres de estudiantes dentro del condado con Planes de Educación Individual (IEP) de educación especial. Los miembros del CAC son nombrados por las juntas de sus distritos escolares y actúan como grupo asesor del SELPA.

El CAC proporciona a los distritos escolares y al SELPA aportes de la comunidad con respecto al desarrollo y la implementación del Plan Local de Educación Especial. También sirve como un foro para abordar las necesidades de TODOS los estudiantes con discapacidades. El CAC fomenta una comunicación significativa entre los administradores escolares, la Junta de Educación, los padres y las comunidades.
