In February 2026, we celebrated the grand opening of the very first Sensory Space in the Monmouth County Library System, located in the Children's Room at Headquarters.
Now, in honor of the Friends' 60th anniversary, we plan to expand the Sensory Space project to more branches, ensuring that more families can enjoy this inclusive and engaging environment.
Designed especially for children with special needs, the Sensory Spaces will offer all children a place to explore, play, and learn through touch, color, and movement. Filled with brand-new, thoughtfully chosen, hands-on equipment and activities, these welcoming areas will encourage curiosity, calm, and joyful discovery.
But we can’t do this without your support. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Friends of the Monmouth County Library to help bring this project to life and bring Sensory Spaces to even more of our county libraries.
