Clerkships expose podiatric students to all facets of podiatric medicine and surgery at McLaren Oakland hospital, in nearby podiatry offices, and in the clinical setting. In the third and fourth year of podiatric medical training, students are typically required to participate in clinical sciences and patient care clerkships.
The student clerkships/rotations gain essential experience in managing the care of patients and learning the roles and responsibilities of the D.P.M as well as their system based knowledge, professionalism, interpersonal communications, and medical knowledge.
Students participate in a four week rotation (40 hours per week) in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center. They are expected to observe and participate in basic podiatric procedures as outlined in their clerkship and approved by their college and their respective hospital preceptors.
How to apply?
Students will apply for clerkships using an online application website, www.dpmclerkships.org starting July 12th. Students must complete their application by September 1st.
