Resident Wellness

McLaren Oakland GME Resident Wellness Mission:

Focus on the institutional mission and values require attention and support to the wellness of the resident population in order to successfully enhance the quality of life and health of the people we serve. The health of the residents is inextricably linked with the health of the community they serve.

The ACGME, the AOA, the ACPME, and McLaren Oakland are committed to addressing physician well-being as it relates to the clinical learning environment. The creation of a learning environment with a culture of respect and accountability for physician well-being is crucial to the ability of those working in it to deliver the safest, best possible care to patients.

Purpose:

The well-being of the McLaren Oakland resident population is the foundation of the success of our programs and hospital. McLaren Oakland is committed to promoting physician well-being and resilience through accountability, integrity, diversity, excellence and respect. McLaren Oakland will support residents in training through the duration of the educational program, with not only academic and professional support, but a variety of integrated services, including medical insurance, mental health referrals, legal, financial, fitness and emotional support.
