Program Mission Statement

The Podiatry Residency Program is operated by McLaren Oakland Hospital and is dedicated to the development and maintenance of a training program of the highest quality. We strive for excellence, and committed to serving the community, the sponsoring institution, the faculty, staff and resident physicians.

The Podiatric Residency Program transforms residents into knowledgeable, competent and safe podiatrists. The means to that end represent a series of supervised patient care experiences in a system of graduated responsibilities. It is the hope of residency leadership that these guidelines will assist residents in accruing the knowledge, skill, and ability required to safely practice Podiatric and surgical medicine.

About Us

The Podiatry Resident Training Program, at McLaren Oakland, consists of board-certified physicians that are committed to preparing you to become proficient, empathetic, and well-rounded physicians. Throughout the program you will receive thorough training on Podiatric medical and surgical procedures. Our program provides exposure to patients with varying socioeconomic situations in a community-based setting. McLaren Oakland’s Podiatric residents are well-prepared to enter practice after graduation.

Accreditation

The Podiatric Medicine and Surgical Residency Program is accredited by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education.
