Investing in Small Business

Growing Green

Making a More Inclusive PA

Issue 1: Over 75 percent of all businesses in PA employ between 1 and 9 workers. The vast majority, over 130,000, employ between 1 and 4. Congress needs to make it easier for the small businesses of Pennsylvania to succeed in a post-COVID economy. I pledge to introduce or co-sign legislation which will make it easier for small businesses to access state grants for small business owners. Further, I believe in establishing a job transition program which will include state funding for first time business owners. Additionally, those small businesses which offer healthcare coverage for their employers must be eligible to receive extra funding or tax credits for doing so.

Issue 2: I pledge to encourage sustainable environmental practices in any expansion of existing or developing economic industries within the 81st district. I pledge to pursue legislation which will guarantee environmental impact studies on proposed expansion or construction of relevant employers, such as future pipeline projects. I commend the work of the PA Community Rights Network and the Hawn's Peninsula conservation movement.

Issue 3: I pledge to introduce or co-sign a statewide anti-discrimination bill in the General Assembly within the first 100 days of the new Congress. The 81st district deserves representation which echoes its values in Harrisburg; current officials fail this obligation. Huntingdon and other local legislation must be adopted across the state.
