📖 The Importance of Reading at Home
Reading together at home is one of the best ways to help your child grow as a reader. Just 15 minutes a day can boost their vocabulary, strengthen comprehension skills, and build a lifelong love of books. Use these questions to spark conversations and make reading time fun and meaningful!
Our campus is committed to providing parents with efficient access to our online library catalog. The Destiny online library catalog can be viewed any time by logging into the parent SSO portal. In response to Senate Bill 13, we are enabling automatic email notifications for parents to view what their student has checked out from the Destiny library catalog if there is checkout activity during the school day. Additionally, S.B. 13 includes the right for parents to block access to specific titles within the online Destiny catalog for their student. If you would like to access your student’s library account to view what they have checked out, review their checkout history, or block them from accessing specific books, please visit the Parent Library Access Tool page located on the MISD Library Services website. If you would like to review specific policies related to library materials, please refer to MISD board policy EFB Local. If you have questions or would like to provide feedback on library materials and services, please contact our campus Library Media Specialist Courtnee Kindrick via email Cokendrick@mckinneyisd.net.
