Checkout Limits

Kindergarten = 1book (2 books later in semester)

1st - 3rd Grade = 3 books

4th = 4 books

5th = 5 books

*Students may checkout books for two weeks, but we do not charge a fee if a book is turned in "late". Books can easily be renewed if a student is not finished with a book. If you have a lost or damaged a book, it will remain on your account, and it will count as one of your allotted books until the book is found or the fine is recouped.

Library Schedule

Students in Kindergarten attend a weekly story time STEM lesson in the library along with book checkout.  First and second grade students visit the library with their class weekly for class checkout times and can also revisit as needed to renew or return books in order to check out new ones.  Third, fourth and fifth grade students visit the library as needed and/or in ELAR stations to browse the library for books of personal interest as well as informational books which support classroom units of study.

makerspace schedule

The Makerspace at McNeil Elementary is stocked with materials for building, creating, coding and solving problems and is utilized in a variety of ways.  Students may visit the makerspace:

Students plan for their makerspace visit by establishing a purpose for their visit and planning out the steps they will take and materials they will need to accomplish their purpose.  Check out the makerspace website for our makerspace orientation video, planning documents and other makerspace resources.
