Secondary school counselors are professional educators with a mental health perspective who understand and respond to the challenges presented by today’s diverse student population. We provide support to maximize student potential and academic achievement. School counselors do not work in isolation; rather they work in partnership with other educators, parents or guardians and the community. School counselors facilitate the support system to ensure all students have access to and are prepared with the knowledge and skills to contribute at the highest level for the ever-changing world of the 21st century.
