ESL Program information

Great strategies are being used in our classrooms for English Learner success!

Students need to know what they are expected to learn from each lesson and these Content and Language Objectives tell them just that.
One of the best ways to help ESL students learn is by having them converse with fellow students using academic language.
Students learn about the ocean from a Marine Biologist who conferenced with the class via Zoom...connecting content with real-life experiences.
Students learn academic vocabulary better when they can relate them to terms they are more familiar with.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Students participating in the ESL program receive intensive instruction in English from teachers certified in ESL.  Teachers scaffold their lessons to ensure the academic content is comprehensible for all students while they develop academic language.
