The Academics Team focuses on enhancing knowledge and understanding of various subjects relevant to school, and overall military and leadership skills; It tests proficiency on subjects such as first aid, leadership principles, math, reading, military history and other relevant topics. The goal is to foster intellectual growth, critical thinking, and deeper comprehension of essential life skills.

MCJROTC also participates in the JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl (JLAB). JLAB is a nationally recognized academic competition created exclusively for JROTC students. By participating, cadets learn the values of citizenship, leadership, academic competition, and college opportunity.
