Naviance is the primary means of communication and information distribution used by High's counseling team. ALL college applications and transcript requests must go through Naviance. Counselors cannot submit any documents for students until they have added their school to the College Application page. This is the first place students should visit, if they are searching for any forms, or need any information regarding their academic plan. Check out the special features in Naviance including finding colleges and careers based on personal skills and areas of interests.
FREE Skills and Career Assessments: Self-assessments are a powerful tool for students to discover their strengths, understand their abilities, and explore potential career paths that align with their skills.

You must ASK your teacher or counselor to write a recommendation letter for you at least 3 weeks before it is due!!

Financial Aid for College
Financial Aid Update - The 2026-2027 FAFSA application should open October 1st. Students will complete the application for the year they will need financial aid for college (e.g. Class of 2026 will complete the 2026-2027 application because they will start college in Fall 2026). Students and guardians will BOTH need a FSA ID (electronic signature account) to create and complete the FAFSA. The FAFSA is for students who are US Citizens, Permanent Residents, or have certain asylum status.
The TASFA is for students who do not meet the criteria for the FAFSA (DACA or undocumented) but wish to receive financial aid for colleges in the state of Texas.
Complete your financial aid applications as soon as possible. Some aid is first come first serve. Some institutions also have students complete the CSS Profile or their own institutional forms for financial aid. Check each college's financial aid website for priority deadlines. For financial support students should make an appointment with High's MEF College Advisor, Mrs. Snyder. She is found in room# C100. 469-302-3308 ssnyder@mckinneyisd.net
