MISD Student Dress Code
The following modes of dress or grooming are prohibited on any MISD campus:
CLOTHING:
Clothing including t-shirts which displays sex, violence, profanity, drugs, tobacco, alcohol, death, gang or hate slogans or pictures
House shoes, slippers
Bare feet
Short shorts, skirts, or dresses that expose the undergarment area whether in sitting or standing position.
Biking shorts, cutoffs, or boxer shorts
Pants, shorts, and skirts with holes or tears above the thigh
Pants, shorts, and skirts worn below the waist ("sagging" garments are not acceptable)
Leggings/Yoga pants without an appropriate top that covers a student’s bottom.
Pajamas
Exposed underwear or undergarments
Trench coats or dusters
See through shirts (e.g., thin or mesh)
Spaghetti straps, tube tops, exposed midriff or cleavage, halter-type blouses, tank tops, muscle shirts, basketball jerseys (unless worn over an appropriate garment, such as an acceptable t-shirt)
GROOMING:
Hats, caps, sunglasses
Hairstyles that are distracting, disruptive or unsafe (head and facial)
Bandanas, hairnets, skull caps
Body piercing jewelry (other than jewelry in the ears or stud in nose)
Jewelry – swastika’s, pentagram, spoons, drug related items
Heavy or spiked jewelry, chains on clothing or wallets (e.g., dog collars, heavy chains)
Body paint
Tattoos with provocative, profane or offensive pictures or writing
REMINDER FROM P.E. - No crocs are allowed in the gym

Effective Parent/Teacher Communication is a vital part of your child's success this school year. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. There are three ways to connect for the Teams meeting:
Download the Teams app to your computer if you don’t already have it installed
** This is the preferred way for parents to join a MISD Teams Meeting
Access Teams online through a web browser on your computer by clicking on the meeting link from an email and choosing to join in the browser
Join from a mobile device by following these instructions
