My name is Jenna Truitt, and I am the Theatre Teacher & Director at Dowell Middle School. I am SO excited to be teaching at Dowell - because DMS is where I went to middle school! (way back in the day...) Dowell holds a very special place in my heart, and I could not be happier to be here in McKinney ISD and at DMS.

This school year will be my 16th year as a teacher, and my 12th as a Theatre Teacher and Director. This will be my fourth year at Dowell. I spent the beginning of my career in Frisco ISD, where I had the pleasure of working in 2 middle schools during my time there. I attended the University of Texas at Austin (hook 'em!) where I received my Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Theatre Studies - which was a program that allowed it's participants to essentially double major in Education & Theatre. 

My family moved to McKinney in 1997. I attended Glen Oaks Elementary (for about a month of 5th grade), Dowell Middle School & was the first class to graduate from McKinney North High School in 2004. I am a product of MISD, and I am just thrilled that my professional career has landed me here with all of you! I can't wait for what this year and the years to come have in store for us.
