DIRECTORS
Mr. Adelmann has been teaching at MCHS since 2018, after teaching at Conant High School for two years and LaSalle-Peru High School for eight years.
Within the band program, he directs the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band and assists with Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band, coordinates the Honors program, and directs the Marching Band and Jazz Mob.
Outside of band classes, he teaches MUS 102, AP Music Theory, guitar, and music technology classes. Mr. Adelmann earned his bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his master's degree in Music Education and Conducting from Northern Illinois University. While at NIU, Mr. Adelmann directed the Marching Huskies and also performed in the steel pan ensemble! He also marched five seasons with the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps.
Mr. Adelmann lives in Minooka with his wife (who is also a band director!), two children Thomas and Louise (both future MCHS band members), and dogs Tina and Teddy.
Mr. Hamilton has been teaching at MCHS since 2025, after teaching 5 years teaching down in Central Texas.
Within the band program, he conducts the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Percussion I/II, along with assisting Concert Band and Wind Ensemble. He directors the Jazz Ensemble and Indoor Percussion and assists with the marching band. Mr. Hamilton also teaches Music Technology and Keyboarding, and Guitar 1.
Michael Hamilton is a percussion performer and music educator originally from Grand Blanc, MI. Hamilton holds a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from Colorado State University, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Central Michigan University. He has worked with numerous high school music programs in Texas, Colorado and Michigan and has also performed extensively in both the jazz and classical worlds. Mr. Hamilton marched 2 seasons with Legends Drum & Bugle Corps as well as 1 season with Eastside Fury and Northcoast Academy Indoor Percussion Ensembles.
Mr. Hamilton lives in Joliet with his wife Ruth and dog, Phil.
