Welcome to the McGuffey Online Learning Hub!
The purpose of this site is to provide a one-stop shop for students and families in situations where the McGuffey School District may be using an online learning model during an extended school closure. The core program we're using for our online learning is Google Classroom.
Please note that this learning model is different from our Flexible Instruction Days, which are used for occasional school closures when it is deemed unsafe to run bus transportation. Also, please note many elements of this site were specific to the closure from March to June, 2020, and may change in accordance with the adopted Health and Safety Plan for the 2020-2021 school year.

McGuffey SD Traveling WiFi Program
McGuffey School District recently had the opportunity to gain access to portable WiFi devices that are capable of broadcasting signals in locations that previously did not have access to strong mobile network signals. Kajeet is a company that specializes in providing Internet access to students in hard to reach places. These units work off of the cellular towers that can be seen everywhere we look. What makes them unique is their ability to access additional channels that cell phones typically do not use. These extra channels allow these mobile routers to connect in areas that don't typically have good coverage. McGuffey has identified locations across the district to broadcast these WiFi signals starting May 13, 2020. To find out when and where these units will be, please visit our Traveling WiFi page.
WiFi access available in McGuffey SD parking lots!
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm
District Chromebooks will connect automatically. We currently have a guest network broadcasting called MSD-Guest. The authentication is open on this network, and when a guest connects to the network it will require them to accept the terms of the McGuffey Acceptable Use Policy by clicking on the “Continue” button. If you wish to view the policy there is a link to it just above the “Continue” button.
The areas that are covered by these access points are as follows:
HS/MS – Main Faculty Parking Lot (Between the Building and the Stadium), Lower Student Parking Lot, Common Area between Stadium Entrance and Bleachers (This area will be available once the power is turned back on to the stadium)
Administration – Both parking lot alcoves
Claysville – Lower Parking Lot and Upper Parking lot
Joe Walker – Whole Parking Lot
All district policies regarding internet use and conduct while on school property apply.
