WHAKATAUKI:
Kaua e rangiruatia te hāpai o te hoe; e kore tō tātou waka e ū ki uta.
Do not lift the paddle out of unison; our canoe will never reach the shore.
KAUPAPA:
In Year 9 the purpose of the rotation is to allow our students to design a desk light box that represents their culture, interests etc. We challenge this cohort with coming up with logos that showcase them.
These learners will then go on and wire up a plug and bulb holder.
The last process they learn is really fun, we use our CNC Machine to create one of their logos, which gives the wow factor. This is a busy rotation which is lots of fun and involves many lessons in the practical environment.
In Year 10 we introduce our learners to the more foundation skills needed to make a piece of furniture. The students will then go on and develop a one off piece of furniture.
