Go through the different links in the High School dropdown box to introduce students to various careers in healthcare and help them plan their own career! Use the calendar to check what events are be hosted each day, and go to the specific day to find all the necessary links for events.
At a high school level, students should not only be engaging in an in-depth exploration of careers; they should also be planning their own pathway to a career of their interest. This pathway should include current actions that should be taken to reach immediate goals such as gaining experience in a field of interest or taking the necessary classes to be accepted into a post-secondary institution. In addition, the career pathway should include more long-term goals such as financial planning and goals during an apprenticeship or post-secondary education. Many events during the week will provide students with the opportunity to ask questions about educational and career pathways, volunteer and shadowing opportunities, and career-specific considerations or requirements. We encourage students to submit questions via live chats and Twitter posts (@mcesc). In addition, students should complete the worksheets and activities to gauge their own interest and plan for a specific career in healthcare.
