Pool Matches / Placing for Finals
- The classification of teams in all Pools shall be made on points according to their win loss record, namely 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. There are no points for a forfeit
- If two teams are equal on points, the results of the game between the two teams will be used to determine placings
- If more than two teams are equal on points, the result of the games between the teams tied will be used to determine the placings
- If the teams in the points mentioned directly above are still equal, placings will be determined on goal average (points for divided by points against) using the results of the games between the tied teams
- If the teams in the points mentioned above are still equal, placings will be determined on goal average using the results of all games in the Pool group
Further Competition Information
- Players disqualified by a referee from a game, shall not play in the following game for that team. Individual schools may lengthen this suspension
- Each school is expected to provide one bench official. Any School that have two teams across both venues during the carnival and require assistance with score bench, please let the Carnival Convener know and MCC will endeavor to provide some support.
- All players are to be attired in the registered uniform of his/her school
- Each player’s surname and initial should be written on the score-sheet 30 minutes before the start of each game. The coach’s name should also appear in the space provided. Computerised score-sheets will be used wherever possible. The referee should tally and sign the scoresheet at the end of the game.
- Any team not ready to commence play when called upon, shall forfeit one point for every minute late, until 10 minutes has elapsed, at which point the game shall be declared a forfeit
- In the event of a player being fouled out of the game the coach has 30 seconds to replace the player before the game recommences (clock is stopped)
- If a player is injured during the game and the referee calls “time out”, the player must be replaced by the coach as soon as possible
