Specialized Training
Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). I have expertise in treating teenagers and adults with ADD and ADHD, including medications, behavioral interventions and working with professional athletes including in the National Football League.
Memory Disorders. I worked at the Penn Memory Center at the University of Pennsylvania and The New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging with individuals suffering with memory impairments ranging from just starting to more advanced stages of memory loss. Although most age dependent memory disorders do not have a cure, the treatments can be optimized to the individual patient in particular treating the often co-occurring symptoms of anxiety, depression, sleep impairments and behavioral impairments can be very helpful to individuals and the spouses and family members.
Intellectual Disability and Autism. I continue to see individuals with genetic disorders associated with intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorders (as I did at the University of Pennsylvania and at Rowan including at the Rowan Institute for Special Needs) including individuals with Fragile X syndrome, Rett syndrome, tuberous sclerosis, neurofibromatosis type 1, Phelan McDermid syndrome, CHARGE syndrome, Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome, Williams syndrome and Down syndrome. Moreover, I have expertise going through exome sequencing results with individuals and families to see if more tailored medications can be identified depending on the basic science and known pathophysiology of the specific genetic mutations. The goal is to provide patients with state of the art clinical care based on the needs of the individual.
