The entire game takes place inside the school. Specifically, a classroom transformed into a game arena with stations, scoreboards, and themed challenges. Players move through five mystery levels, each containing a unique set of history-based tasks. Every level tests skills such as fact-checking, analysis, identification of errors, and justification of reasoning.

Players must successfully finish all five mystery levels. The student with the highest total points after completing every level becomes the Rainbow Rumble Champion.
