The invention log is a notebook where you record your ideas from the first sketches to the final dimensions. This includes drawings, written ideas, data/research you collected, etc. Feel free to add pages or glue in doodles you made outside the log to show all your thoughts in your creation process.

Your display board can be a tri-fold board OR digital display. The trifold needs to be less than 24" across folded.

The prototype is a physical representation of your invention. It does not have to work, as long as you can explain and demo how it would work. If it is an App, it may be a series of images of the various screens. Prototypes must be low-cost (less than $50). Ideally, they would be made from recycled materials or items found from home.

Your video will give you an opportunity to share your project with the judges. See below for options for uploading your video. Click HERE to view the judging rubric to see what they will be looking for.
Students must prepare a video (between 3-6 minutes) which walks the viewer through their process from problem to prototype.
Video CANNOT be edited. The video must be done in one take.
If using a cellphone, please have the phone in landscape.
If possible, have your board and prototype in your video.
Place the link/QR code to your video on your display board. You can find free QR generators online.
When you register for the Invention Convention via the Registration Form, be prepared to share your video link as one of the requirements to submit the form. You can create a link by uploading your video to Google Drive or YouTube.
