Maywood Avenue School
Visual Arts Teacher
Welcome to Maywood Avenue School's Visual Arts Program. You will enjoy Art Class at Maywood Avenue School. You will learn so about artist and styles; you will learn about your own style by experimenting with different mediums while making your own personal art while following a theme.
I graduated from New Jersey City University with a Graphic Design Degree and an Art Education Certification (K-12). I also graduated with an Masters in Art Education from Boston University, The College of Fine Arts. I have had the wonderful opportunity to be part of the Executive Committee for Art Advocacy and The Bergen County Youth Art Month Coordinator at The Art Educators of New Jersey.
I enjoy traveling, reading, dancing, painting, exercising (Body Combat is my favorite), painting, designing, and creating prints through wood block printing.
I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

"Every Child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he or she grows up" - PABLO PICASSO
Why is Art Important to All Students?
Art focuses on problem solving skills and understanding that there is no one solution to a problem. There is so much we teach, but there is never one answer. Art teaches team work and self-expression. Finally, Art gives a child a reason to show up and do what he or she enjoys.
