Classroom Environment
As a class, we will agree on classroom norms in order to create a safe, fun and conducive learning environment for everyone. We will work together to maintain an environment where all students can thrive. Students are expected to follow these expectations:
Respect everyone’s right to learn- Treat classmates, the teacher and your school with respect
Contribute to a safe and effective learning environment- Be kind, listen to the teacher and your peers when they are speaking, and make your best effort. No bullying, fighting or disruptive behavior
Be prepared for class- Bring necessary materials, homework, and a positive attitude
Follow the classroom rules we make together and the school handbook
Grading
Grading will be based on participation/best effort, classwork, homework, projects, and quizzes.
I want each student to succeed and, with that in mind, I will accept late work. However, there will be a 10% deduction for each day that it is late (no late work after 10 days).
Middle school is the time for students to develop effective study/classroom habits and I have put structures in place with that in mind.
