Class 2 District 16 CHAMPS!

For the first time since the 1964/65 season the Wolverines have won a district title in basketball. They defeated the Gallatin Bulldogs in a back and forth contest by a score of 53-50.

2023 Gallatin Invitational Tournament Champions

Wolverines are G.I.T. CHAMPS!

The Wolverine Boys team came home with some hardware in the first tournament of the year in Gallatin. Maysville defeated the Braymer Bobcats in the championship game to claim first place this year. This is the first tournament title in the Gallatin Invitational Tournament since the 1977-1978 season. Dillon Willis and Kobyn Metzger were named to the All-Tournament Team. Metzger earned further recognition, being named the MVP of the tournament.

The next tournament will be the South Harrison Tournament in January 2024, where they will look to defend their championship from last season.

Kobyn Metzger Breaks 3-point record

Maysville, MO - Kobyn Metzger and his Wolverine teammates defeated the Pattonsburg Panthers in a home game February 7th. The game was particularly special for Metzger because he broke the school record for three pointers in a game by hitting 9 in the contest. He previously tied the record earlier this season by hitting 8 against Mercer in the South Harrison Tournament. Kevin Eulinger previously also held the record, setting it in the mid 1990s.

Willis, Metzger named to             All-Tournament Team

Dillon Willis and Kobyn Metzger were named to the South Harrison Invitational All-Tournament team. Kobyn was named MVP of the tournament. Willis broke the school record for points in a game in round one against East Harrison. Metzger tied the school record for three pointers in a game in round two vs Mercer. The team then beat Princeton for the championship.

Dillon Willis Breaks School Record In First Round

Bethany, MO - Dillon Willis and his Wolverine teammates had a solid outing in the first round of the South Harrison Invitational against the #8 seed East Harrison Bobcats winning 91-27. Maysville struck early and often, scoring in the first four seconds of the game. Maysville's full court, high pressure defense was too much for the East Harrison Bobcats to handle. Willis had a special night breaking a 62 year old school scoring record. He scored 46 points in the three quarters he played, which broke the previous record of 44 held by David Fore.

The Wolverines face the #4 seed Mercer Cardinals in the second round Thursday at 6:00 in Bethany.
