Digital Citizenship
Digital Citizenship and internet safety are topics we address each year with students.
Things to Remember:
Keep personal information private online: name, address, phone numbers, age, school, pictures, email address and passwords.
Never agree to meet anyone in person that you've met online.
Unfamiliar websites, email messages and apps can cause problems with your devices (tablet, phone, computer...).
Every time you go online you are leaving a digital footprint. Be careful about things you post. Once it's in online it may be there forever.
Passwords need to be secure. Use numbers, capital letters and symbols to make passwords hard to crack. Be sure to keep all passwords private.
Find your media balance. You are a member of many communities (family, school, city and online). Be sure you are a positive, participating member of each.
