The Miles for Museums Summer Passport Program is a fun, family-friendly initiative that encourages visitors to explore local museums and learn about the rich history of our region. Created by the Eastern Cabarrus Historical Society in 2023, the program invites participants to collect stamps at participating museums throughout the summer. Along the way, you'll enjoy educational adventures, and have the chance to win prizes.
It’s easy! Start by picking up a passport at any participating museum or downloading one here. Then, visit participating museums throughout the summer and collect a stamp at each location you explore. The more stamps you collect, the closer you get to winning fun prizes.
No! The program is free to join!
The program runs from the end of May (Memorial Day Weekend) through Labor Day. Be sure to get all your stamps and submit your completed passport by September 1st!
Yes! Visit the participating museums in any order and at your own pace throughout the summer.
No! Everyone is welcome—locals, day-trippers, and out-of-town visitors.
You'll receive small incentives along the way as you collect stamps. If you complete the passport by visiting all 13 participating locations, take a photo of your fully stamped passport (including the section with your name, phone number, and email) and send it to info@milesformuseums.org. You’ll be entered into a drawing for a grand prize at the end of the summer.
